Meet Dr. Shawn St. Marie

Shawn St. Marie graduated from New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2009. He completed his Internal Medicine residency in Massachusetts then moved to Orlando to complete specialty training in Neuromuscular Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulation. Afterward, Dr St. Marie was an academic hospitalist in Orlando where he cared for acutely ill hospitalized patients and taught young physicians acute hospital medicine, osteopathic manipulation, and critical care medicine. In 2020, he created Osteopathic Health of Baldwin Park to provide optimal care for those in the local community.  Since that time Dr St. Marie has advanced his training in the fields of functional medicine, weight loss, hormone replacement therapy, and the therapeutic use of peptides.

“My purpose in life is to help others.  My experience in the current medical system is that patients are crying out for more compassion, more time with their doctor, and direct modern communication.  Patients want a doctor who genuinely cares and has the skills to help them.  While working in the hospital system, I have cared for many severely ill patients and many patients with severe physical pain.  Many who presented with advanced medical disease and complications that could have been prevented.  Many who have been suffering from years of physical pain or unrelenting problems that the current system didn’t seem to have enough time, devotion, or understanding in order to fix. Looking for REAL doctor? Look no further, you found him. I have 3 herniated discs, two pinched nerves and several bulged discs. After a year being treated by different medical professionals (neurologist, physical therapist, chiropractor ,electrical muscle stimulation, massages, 4 sets of spinal injections, acupuncture, you name it)... I suffered a severe injury involving a sprained wrist, nerve damage, torn rotator cuff, and herniated cervical disk. I could not sit down, sleep or use my hand. The pain was excruciating. Dr. St. Marie is a great doctor. I have a 12 year old daughter who was a competitive gymnast, and is now training to be a competitive sprinter. Dr. St. Marie has helped her tremendously through her small injuries. He always takes the time to communicate what he's doing, so that she can become aware of her body, and specifically of where she seems to be sore or tense over time. He also helps her understand the cause of her pain, and gives suggestions for at home maintenance and recovery methods. After her last adjustment she said that the experience was a 10 out of 10!

Dr. St. Marie uses his techniques to enable me to live mostly pain free and enables me to do the things I love to do! Dr. St. Marie is an amazing physician hands down. He is a fully licensed physician who practices a unique whole-person approach in every medical speciality. I have numerous injuries from a horse accident. My neck, back, hip, and pelvis were all damaged from the incident. I have seen orthopedic doctors, gynecologists, cardiologists, as well as neurologists and neurosurgeons. All who would only look at one piece of the picture and never where able to put everything that was happening to me together.
Surgery was done on my hip, pelvis and bladder (my uterus was removed due to a prolapse) multiple physical therapy sessions I attended and numerous prescription medications were prescribed to try to help with the pain and the hypertension caused by the injury. Two years later and I was unable to move forward. My blood pressure was not controlled, my physical status continues to decline as well as my mental status. I felt as if I was in a vicious circle with no resolve or hope. After Dr. St. Marie reviewed my medical documentation and performed a thorough examination... he found the areas of strain in my pelvis, back, and neck causing so much pain and atrophy to my body. He also found an area of nerve damage in my pelvis and nerve entrapment in my hip. He performed osteopathic manipulation as well as musculoskeletal injections to my back and pelvis. Progress is happening and my body is healing! He is knowledgeable in all areas of the body and mind. He helps you to develop attitudes and lifestyle changes that don't just fight the illness but help prevent it too.
